Joanne & Simon

August 22nd 2018

Le vieux château, Vicq-sur-Breuilh

Agenda

As many of you know, we’re going to be sorting the "official" side of things in the UK in July, so France will be the after-party (AKA the fun bit)!

Rough plan for the day:

RSVP

Gift List

We are very conscious of the time, effort and costs involved in joining us for our wedding celebrations and really happy and grateful to have you there - that in itself is the best gift we could ask for!

If you would still like to give us a gift however, please do consider donating to the charity of our choice, Amnesty International, or contributing to our honeymoon (destination TBC but somewhere sunny! :)) via our gift list:

You can also choose a material gift from this website too should you prefer - any gifts will be most gratefully received.

Travel

Plane

There are lots of airports within easy travelling distance from the venue.

Limoges Airport (30 minutes’ drive)

Ryanair

British Airways

Flybe

Brive Airport (approx. 1 hour drive)

Ryanair

Bergerac Airport (approx. 2 hours’ drive)

Ryanair

Flybe

Bordeaux & Toulouse airports within 3 hours’ drive also.

If you will be flying but are not planning to hire a car, let us know and we will try to connect you up with other guests who may be able to give you a lift!

Train

There are several small train stations nearby to Vicq sur Breuilh (Pierre-Buffiere, Macganc-Vicq & St Germain les Belles). If you will be taking the train from the UK, you will need to change in Limoges for the regional train: TER pdf

We would advise checking the timetable here, as they are not very frequent(!): sncf

Car

The venue is a short drive (10 mins) off the A20 motorway – junction 40 when heading Southbound, junction 41 if heading Northbound.

Any more travel questions, just ask!

Accommodation

Unfortunately there is limited accommodation within Vicq sur Breuilh itself, so we would recommend staying in one of the following three nearby villages for the night of the wedding (Pierre-Buffière, Magnac-Bourg or Saint-Germain les Belles).

Check out the links below for suggestions of where to stay (all sites in English):

Pierre-Buffière (accessible by train)

Magnac-Bourg (accessible by train)

Saint-Germain les Belles

We are looking into organising a bus that will pick up from each of these villages before the event and do one (or possibly more) drop offs in each at the end of the evening – more details to follow in due course.

For the more adventurous and budget-conscious among you, you are also welcome to camp FOR FREE on site the night of the wedding!

And for those of you keen to stay longer in the beautiful Limousin area, there are lots of lovely ‘gîtes’ to rent nearby:
